The way police and crisis workers assess the risk of death or injury among family violence victims will be reviewed, with the process likely to have a greater focus on children. Information on risk needs to be more efficiently passed on to other agencies like the courts and child protection. Risk assessment also needs to be broadened to include the abuse of people with disabilities, elder abuse and adolescent family violence.
