In this article, Clementine Ford discusses problems with the "good bloke" narrative used by the media in cases of familial homicide. Ford writes about how this
narrative allows perpetrators of domestic/family violence to see
themselves as victims of events beyond their control that drive them to
perpetrate such violence. They are therefore excused in their own minds
(and in the minds of some community members) from being responsible for
