One in three young Australians think it's hard to respect a woman in revealing clothing, and one in five think jealousy is a sign of love. About the same number think men should be head of the household, and one in ten believe intoxication is at least a partial excuse for violence.
Research shows that sexist and stereotypical ideas about gender and gender roles underpin violence against women. We still have a long way to go to change such attitudes.
